In the medicine guidlines on page 518 of the 2012 CPT book, Can you elaborate on what we will need to know as far as higlighting the importance of it? You have indicate on your DVD something about referring back to page 458(Stick and Stuff)on page 518. What is the relevance of the reference?

When Laureen refers to the Stick and Stuff, she has the following in mind:
The "stuff" is the product that is being injected. The "stick" refers to sticking a needle into the body, that is, the injection.
You need to code both the injection (the administration which is the "stick" ) and the product, (the "stuff").

The guideline is telling you that code 90281 - 90399 (the stuff) are reported with the administration codes 96365-96368, 96372, 96374,96375. Laureen tried to give you the page in the CPT manual where these codes are found. In my book they start on page 519. I suggest you find where they are listed in your book and make a note on page 458 where the Stuff codes start, vice versa. Then you identify the correct stuff and stick codes, and code both.

Hope this makes it clearer.
